Robert is a Senior Fellow at the Program on International Financial Systems and a Visiting Research Fellow at the National Institute of Financial Research at Tsinghua University’s People’s Bank of China School of Finance, where his research primarily relates to Chinese financial market structure. He is also a Visiting Research Fellow at Tsinghua University’s Center for Digital Financial Assets and a Fellow at the Singapore University of Social Sciences FinTech and Blockchain Group.
Robert previously was a consultant with Patomak Global Partners and IBM’s Promontory Financial Group, where his client work focused on risk and strategy issues facing asset managers, banks, broker-dealers, exchanges, and financial market utilities, and during his time at Patomak, Robert served on the leadership team of an international coalition of over 300 companies that developed best practices for digital token market participants.
Earlier in his career, Robert worked for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Financial Services and as a researcher for Harvard University’s Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government and George Mason University’s Mercatus Center. Robert was a 2018-19 Luce Scholar and his research on financial market trends has been cited in The Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, and various publications by U.S. regulators. He earned his M.P.P. from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and his B.B.A. from The College of William & Mary.
