Dr. Alex Yang is a FinTech entrepreneur and investor with over 14 years of experience in banking and finance, during which time he met and joined Sunny King for a few projects. Alex is leading V SYSTEMS to support Sunny King’s vision to create a virtual economy era by bringing an innovative blockchain database and decentralized application platform focusing on DeFi.
Prior to his role at V SYSTEMS, Alex was the founder and CEO of Fund V, one of the first token funds to focus on blockchain companies and related investment opportunities. He was also a founding partner of Beam VC and CyberCarrier Capital which together have successfully invested in over 30 startups in the TMT sector.
Prior to venture capital investment, Alex was Head of Hybrid and Structured Trading APAC, Executive Director Nomura International; and VP of Exotic Derivatives Trading, UBS AG.
He started his career as a quantitative developer at Jump Trading in Chicago. Alex gained Mathematics Ph.D. from Northwestern University in Chicago. He is also a founding director of the Hong Kong Financial Association.
